I've noticed more creators starting Patreon pages. Although many of them are film makers who have had videos demonetized on YouTube, there are also a considerable amount of musicians, visual artists, photographers and bloggers who have embraced the platform for supporting long term, continual projects.
This post talks about how Patreon has bridged the gaps left by other services, and how its model provides a basic tip jar for those starting out, as well as scaling up to larger projects.
