We cannot allow the perfect to be the enemy of the good.
Central ...Arkansans and Americans across the country desperately need assistance as we continue to withstand the current health crisis.
Our top priority in the House should be expanding and extending the Paycheck Protection Program, easing PPP forgiveness, addressing pandemic unemployment payments, and increasing the flexibility with which states can utilize funding from the CARES Act. Additionally, we must extend the CARES Act’s deadline from December 31st, 2020 to a time next year.
I join my fellow House Republicans in urging House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to bring targeted, efficient relief to the House floor as soon as possible and help us fulfill our duty to the American people. See More
Historically, the National Apprenticeship Act has been a catalyst fo...r workforce development. However, to meet the American people’s modern needs, this legislation, formed during the Great Depression, needs significant reform.
The bureaucratic red tape that it imposes on the apprenticeship process has severely hindered job growth in Arkansas. House Republicans have proposed common-sense reforms that focus on employer-driven innovation and flexibility, and will get Arkansans, and Americans, back to work. As members of Congress, our duty is to serve hardworking families across the country, and we must not lose sight of that focus.
Unfortunately, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats have refused to consider these suggestions, choosing instead to turn this into a partisan issue and perpetuating the legislation’s existing flaws. I hope they will re-evaluate their current stance and embrace this opportunity to enact reforms that will create lasting benefits for Americans in the future.

Yesterday, my team gave a warm welcome to U.S. EPA Administrator And...rew Wheeler when he came to visit Little Rock. Also joining Administrator Wheeler were Arkansas State Representative Jack R Ladyman, Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment Secretary Becky Keogh, and Arkansas State Senator Missy Thomas Irvin.
The group visited Heifer Village and Urban Farm, which strives to implement fresh food, water, and shelter in impoverished communities worldwide. They also witnessed and discussed the Pulaski County Government Brownfields, including rain drains installed in downtown Little Rock.
By supporting initiatives such as these, we can take steps to beautify both Arkansas and the rest of the world. See More
As someone who has spent decades in the financial services industry, I know the importance of providing all consumers—regardless of income—the opportunity to seek sound financial advice. The DOL’s Fiduciary Rule would greatly diminish access to professional retirement planning and guidance for those who need it the most. This is why a broad, bipartisan majority in Congress has called for the rule to be scrapped as written. The ‘Washington-knows-best’ strategy in the ‘war on savings’ employed by the last administration has come to an end, and it is being replaced with a new regulatory environment that works to create more opportunity for investment choices and lowers costs for consumers.
