This video was taken early this morning of a curious docile bear tha...t wandered into the city and climbed up a tree. It was first spotted around 9:30 pm in the Indian Trails Golf Course and then through the Woodlawn Cemetery. He then re-emerged around 1:30 this morning in a tree in the 1600 block of Horton St SE. Public Information Release: Man dies at hospital after being dropped... off with serious injuries.
Grand Rapids, MI (May 12, 2019, 9:30 am)
After a man is dropped off at the hospital with serious injuries and dies a short time later, his death is being investigated as a possible homicide.
Early this morning, at approximately 2:39 a.m., Grand Rapids Police responded to a report of the sound of shots fired in the 500 block of Highland St. SE. A few minutes later a victim with serious injuries arrived at St. Mary’s Hospital by private transport. The victim was pronounced dead at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Officers located a possible scene in the 500 block of Highland St. SE. The scene was processed by the Grand Rapids Police Forensics Unit.
The victim is a 21-year old male from Grand Rapids. His identity is being withheld pending notification to family members. A final determination as to the cause and manner of death will be made through the Kent County Medical Examiner’s Office on Monday, May 13, 2019. The Grand Rapids Police Department Detectives are investigating and is treating the death as a homicide.
