Sorry for the short downtime this morning, we had some database issues. Everything is back up and running now!

We will have a short downtime tomorrow morning at 0630 Central, hopefully no more than 30 minutes.
During this time you will be unable to play online, and all database related services will be down.

Our third and final winning slot goes to Jungle Trash & Furious II by Fg.L@lOoZe! This is a great looking map. It is clear a ton of time and effort went in to making this map shine. There is also fun gameplay to be had here. The objective layout, combined with additional corridors and paths throughout the map, result in some very mobile encounters, many of which are close range. It is a very action packed map! Congratulations to Fg.L@lOoZe on a job well done! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/…

Steam Workshop: America's Army: Proving Grounds. Salut tout l'monde! Voici ma map pour le concours "Concrete Jungle". Merci de reporter les bugs ou vos idées dans les commentaires. Vous pouvez la tester sur ce server : 108.61.122.16:877

Our second winning map is Rusneyev Night by -=}WoLvErInE{=-! Rusneyev Night is a great looking map with a lot of character. It has some very distinct aspects to it with a number of interesting combat spaces and unique routes. -=}WoLvErInE{=- did a great job working some natural environments into the playspace while still using the building ruins in the map to nail the contest theme. The split attacker spawn points add some uniqueness to the map and give players a bit more variety from round to round. The map is a bit on the big size in terms of BDX, but this helps the map to play a bit slower, allowing players to make good use of all the cool features the playspace has to offer. Congratulations -=}WoLvErInE{=- on a job well done! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/…

Our first winning entry goes to SeVn.Max's map 7raptus! This map is a great size for BDX and offers a wide variety of gameplay experiences in a very cohesive way. The center portions of the map offer good verticality and room clearing while the exterior portions of the map mix tight passageways with more open, mid-range firefights. SeVn.Max did a great job during the contest responding to feedback, making some critical changes near the objective areas. 7raptus transformed from a solid contender to a clear winner as a result. Congratulations SeVn.Max on a job well done! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/…

Today's map creator spotlight is on RedBaron64. Here are a few words from him about his map "Apocalyptic_X6". "Inside the island of Palisav has been discovered a ghost town, abandoned for decades after an unspecified incident of chemical type and now fully reclaimed by nature. The intelligence sources confirm that in the city has been abandoned a chemical bomb now actively searched by Czervenian troops.
The main theme was to rebuild an urban environment 'reclaimed from nature...' with a size that would allow a suitable gameplay both BDX and FLO mode. To highlight the 'dirt' of the environment I used a large number of 'custom decals' like vegetable types, such as for example 'moss', or like splattered blood. The verticality is given by the objective placed on the first floor of the clothes store, accessible by stairs or by roof, and the abandoned subway tunnel; there are many attack routes to the objective's building with the purpose of ensure many choices for the attacking team."

Today's map creator spotlight is on -SD-muzza455. Here's a few words from him about his map "Submarine Base". "i started this map shortly before the contest and got all the scale way wrong .
i downscaled it and built it based around the water i have been trying to use as a map foundation that can be usable. but not the main focus in the gameplay .why do we have either water that you stand on or just fall through . we have control of all the other elements to a degree.
i wanted a different dynamic in this map , hence the moveable water and a heli hovering in the roof opening. yes a disturbance in gameplay so some sounds are blocked , too many almost silent maps out there.
it was for me a difficult time to get it right or as right as i could."

The game is back up! Forums and profile pages will be back up soon as well! Thanks so much for your patience!

Tomorrow 12 JULY 2016 at 0500 CST our database is being moved to a new physical location.
We anticipate this will take 8 hours to complete.
The game, website, and forums will not be accessible during this time.

At the Army Game Studio we do a lot more than just the AA series. We make complex weapon and vehicle trainers, VR and AR simulations, museum interactive pieces, and most recently a chemistry educational app.

U.S. Army STARS: Elements is one of our first edutainment mobile/browser games.
It has an interactive periodic table, atom builder, a game that teaches the octet rule called Smashbond, and a quiz game.
If you'd like to see more or have a child that would benefit from the app, you can check it out here: http://usarmystars.com/

The current map contest entry period is now over. We will now begin reviewing all of the entries and we will post winners in a few weeks.
