To everyone who has helped spread awareness about the disappearance of Mercy Covington, I want to say, Thank You. You're helping put pressure on those responsible for investigating the situation and it appears to be working. This morning, Mercy's mother reports investigative actions by police have increased. It sounds as if suspects are being called, leads are being followed.
To capitalize on the response thus far, I've sent an email outlining our efforts to the detective in charge of the case. My hope is that awareness of the visibility we've created will drive continued action on the part of those investigating.
We also plan to start a vetting process for hiring a P.I. agency.
I will update as new information surfaces.
Last thing I want to say is that there's a lot of additional information about this case that I've not shared. This is partly to protect Mercy, and partly to protect those who are suspected of involvement in her disappearance. Until the evidence is followed and potential suspects eliminated, it's dangerous to share more. If you have questions about the situation, feel free to PM me directly and ask. If a private sharing of info can help find my sister, then I have no objection to sharing more.
