Pierce County administrative offices will be closed Monday, February 19, in observance of President’s Day. Normal business hours will resume Tuesday, February 20. Emergency services will operate without interruption.

"Here in Pierce County 81 people died, and nationwide 42,000 people suffered from fatal overdoses in 2016 - a 28% increase in just one year alone," said Senator Maria Cantwell during her speech at the #PierceCo Opioid Summit.

This morning, #PierceCo Executive Bruce Dammeier and the Adjutant General Bret Daugherty signed an interagency agreement between Pierce County and Washington State Emergency Management.

The agreement enables Washington State Task Force 1 (WA-TF1), one of 28 national Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) urban search and rescue teams, to respond to state and local emergencies in Washington.
