Total BS, by the way, about the BLS figures. Take a look at the data, look at Michigan: http://www.bls.gov/news.release/union2.t05.htm#union_a05.f.1. The number has gone down--both for people who are union members, AND people working who are represented by unions. In other words, even people freeloading on unions--those numbers went down in Michigan. So Mackinaw is lying.

Exploding the myths and scare tactics about Labor Freedom. In right to work states jobs are up, including a proportion of the jobs that go union. Even if they lose a few members who decide they do not want to belong, there has been a net increse. The sky isn't falling, the unions have competition and cannot take members and their dues for granted, so they get better and fight to remain relevant and of value to employees. Workers win. Union bosses lose only if they stay as they are - not providing great representation or value for the dues they get. Workers choice is good.

Bill the issue is worker freedom, worker choice, something you obviously do not believe in. Forced unionism is the last vistage of slavery in America.

"Sometimes, even with government published data, you need to look at the fine print."
      Sometimes?

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand reality here. Insurance companies sell their value every day, or more accurately- the fear of catastrophic financial loss vs the loss of reasonably small monthly amounts of cash instead.

Finally, unions will be forced to prove their value. For some, it will be harder than for others.

Ah, but you don't--because you will freeload. Nice gig for you!

Wonfg again, Bill. The unions have the authority to write contracts in which they have no responsibility for workers that option out. Freeloading is the 1% union bosses who ignore the wishes of the membership they tax,.

Bill Milligan If unions do not want freeloaders than they should create members only contracts. People should have the right to choose whether or not to associate with a union. Business owners should have the right to decide whether or not to deal with a union. Rather than right to work they should have a Members only agreement act where all union contracts only represent members. Membership would be voluntary. Unions do not want this because they know a majority of people (80%) do not want Union membership

So obviously employers in RTW states are turning the screws to their employees and forcing them to flee to the safety of unions. Big surprise.

This may be bad news for the Unions but they still got Hussein reelected.

This is why we call it "unintended" consequences.

Freedom helps everyone, a rising tide lifts all boats.

The union leadership understands that adopting Austrian School economics would put more of their members to work, but that's not their objective.
