Why do we even have rules and laws anymore? If the people sworn to uphold these laws don't care why should we?

The federal government now recognizes it, it is now in question, and since there is now a lawsuit, it is now in question.

'She referred the state's defense against the ACLU to the Office of General Counsel under Corbett, an action she said is permitted under the Commonwealth Attorneys Act. The 1980 act allows attorneys general to refuse to defend state laws if a court has effectively repealed the regulations in question.'

Pennsylvania's law is on the books and has not been declared unconstitutional by a court of proper jurisdiction.

By law, the Attorney General is charged with defending those laws against legal challenges. The AG's personal views are totally irrelevant, and if he/she doesn't like a law they should resign, (or not become AG in the first place).

A "writ of mandamus" is available in PA...why has no one tried to obtain one?

My thinking is Mandamus is applied when the person has an obligation to carry out the activity. Pa law allows for the AG to pull out & refer the defense to the Governors team. The obligation to defend remains, but it now stands with the Governors appointed defender.
I would think Mandamus could come into play if neither the AG nor the Governors team defended. But then it would have to be invoked & enforced. Would the AG dodge the writ and fob it off on the Governors team as well?
Either way, it's a poison pill for the Governor to stomach.

A pretty face is not a free pass to usurp the law. HOW do we continue to elect people that refuse to uphold their sworn duties? Barack Hussein Obama ring a bell?

Your an idiot, learn the law. SINCE the federal government now recognizes it, it is now in question, and since there is now a lawsuit, it is now in question...

I don't see how anyone is being discriminated against the law says marriage is between a man and a woman. Everyone who wants to be MARRIED can be. If they choose something else then that is up to them but it is not marriage.
