I am sure a number of you will have heard about this tragic event on our doorstep at Waiblingen Way. As ever Devizes folks are pulling together to help - Christmas spirit has always meant looking out for those having the hardest times. We can help in different ways - and this is one. Sending strength and love. ❤️🌹

Also this afternoon the trustees of Devizes Opendoors, the homelessness charity, offered help with clothes, toiletries, and support if required, for those affected by the fire.
Finally, please can I ask that anyone discussing the fire on this page please bear in mind the thoughts and feelings of those involved. Please do not name those involved unless they explicitly consent or until officially named by the police.
Thanks for your support so far and a huge thank you to Liz for driving the appeals.
Message from Rachael: I want to send a personal thank you to all our Labour members and volunteers who helped create a positive and truthful campaign. A big thank you to my agent and the trio of wise women Sue Buxton, Di Harris and Sylvia Card who have advised me along the way, and to Labour South West who provided counsel to us too. Most of all thank you to every one who voted for me.
Since the election I have been overwhelmed by the messages of support from across the pol...itical spectrum about how impressed they were with our campaign and how we communicated our vision of a green industrial revolution and the politics of hope, equality and compassion.
Sadly our passion, bold vision and hard work did not translate into the results we hoped for. I will play my part in helping us to reflect on valuable lessons, and rebuild our Labour movement locally and nationally.
Labour will continue to stand up for all the people of Devizes constituency, holding our new MP to his promise to deliver increased resources for our community eg in schools, the NHS and policing across the constituency.

General Election Result 2019:
Emma Dawnay – Green Party: 2,809
Danny Kruger – Conservative Party: 32,150
Rachael Schneider Ross – Labour Party: 7,838...
Jo Waltham – Liberal Democrats: 8,157
The turnout was 51,223, which equates to 69.81%
To say that this election night was a great disappointment would be an understatement.
We thank all those who voted for us and pay tribute to the effort and enthusiasm that went into our campaign. It was a huge team effort led by party members and volunteers in a campaign that remained resolutely positive and truthful.
We are very grateful for all the passion and hard work that Rachael Schneider Ross put in standing as our candidate.
To quote President Bill Clinton "The people have spoken, but it will take a while to determine exactly what they said."
We offer our congratulations to Danny Kruger MP and look forward to holding him to his promise of delivering increased resources for our community eg in schools, NHS and policing across the Devizes Constituency.
