Five years ago today, I stepped away from Lawndale to run for U.S. Congress. We are grateful for the church extending this opportunity to our family. Kelly and I loved the worship, mission trips, productions, and the wonderful friendships we cherish for life.

Such a privilege to serve in Congress with this man. Rep. Sam Johnson is an exceptional patriot who has spent his entire life serving and sacrificing for our nation. I am thankful to have him as a friend and a mentor, especially as a founder of the Republican Study Committee. You will be missed and never forgotten, Mr. Johnson.

Few people I’ve met enjoyed Christmas more than my father-in-law. He lost his father as a young boy and never had much growing up. Maybe that’s why he never lost the spirit of Christmas. We miss Ed but we celebrate the joy he shared with his family and to so many others.

Just heard back from Santa and he’s telling me, “Take your time in DC!"
