Five years ago today the UK left the EU. Two days earlier British in Europe was present in the European Parliament along with our friends from the3million to witness the historic vote that sealed our fate.
Five years on, six million citizens on either side of the Channel continue to live with the impact of a decision that most of us had no say in. Thousands of families have been broken up by Brexit as UK citizens in the EU and EU citizens in the UK still struggle to acquire ...the rights they are entitled to under the Withdrawal Agreement.

British in Europe is still here, working with our unbelievably committed volunteers in our country groups to defend rights and hold governments accountable when they fail to respect them. It’s not always easy but the wins are worth it: keeping families together and enabling them to carry on living their lives.

Thanks to all of you who have supported us along the way and to those of you who will continue to do so. As one of our volunteers said this week, “we are heartbroken but not broken.”
