A memorial service honoring the late Dave Couch, a former West Side Volunteer Firefighter, will take place tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. at Idlewild Cemetery, followed by a reception at 12:00 p.m. at our Rockford Fire Station.

With the incoming weather we'd like to remind everyone that we are still very much in wildfire season. Conditions remain exceptionally prone to fire throughout the region. The County Burn Ban will remain IN EFFECT until further notice.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning beginning this afternoon at 12:00 pm through this evening at 9:00 pm. An approaching weather system will result in breezy winds
accompanied by low relative humidity across the region. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
