Burn Season is Now Open!
Just a couple of reminders...
Burn permits are required and can be obtained at the main station, 1755 Juniper Street.
Call the LRAPA Burn Advisory Line at (541)726-3976 before you burn. They update it daily and for residents in the Junction City Rural Fire Protection District listen for the option for "all other areas".
Although we are seeing some milder weather, please continue to be vigilant with fire safety. Always attend to your burn pile, have a nearby water source, and be a good neighbor.

Effective 12:01 am, Saturday, October 11, Fire Season officially ends! We want to thank everyone for once again helping to keep Western Lane safe from fires. ...We appreciate all those who have participated in both prevention and suppression efforts this summer, specifically our partners at all of the rural fire departments and neighboring fire protection agencies. While we are out of fire season officially, we ask that when you conduct backyard debris burning that you be very careful and keep an eye on your fire, burn in cleared areas, attend your burns at all times, as we have seen fires spread shortly after fire season in the past. More rains will be a great help in that regard. If you have logging slash to burn, slash burning is still closed – we will monitor the weather and open slash burning season once we’ve received adequate rain. Please remember that paperwork and permitting is still conducted at your local ODF office, so please make sure you have everything in order before you proceed. Thank you!

Just a quick reminder that we're not out of the woods yet. This applies to backyard burning in our fire district as well. Watch our page for updates on the start of burn season🙂

Though the weather is changing and it may seem safe, fire season is still in effect and debris burning is prohibited. Stay up to date on your local fire regulations and wait until all burn bans are lifted to burn debris safely. Help end the season strong with one less human-caused fire.

Thank you Special Districts Association of Oregon!
Junction City Fire was one of the special districts selected to receive the 2025 SDAO Internship Grant.
This matching grant allowed the district to hire Volunteer Firefighter, Kalli Gill during the summer to implement a structured address marker replacement system. Reflective address markers are important for our crews when responding to calls in the rural parts of our district and Kalli did an excellent job working on this project.
If you live outside of the city limits and your address marker has been damaged or is not visible from the road, please notify us by heading to https://www.jcfire.org/address-markers-can-we-find-you to complete the form on our website (or call the station at 541-998-2022) and we will make sure your address marker is replaced!

This morning, Junction City Fire responded to a report of a subject stranded down an embankment. Road crews en route for culvert maintenance discovered this vehicle stuck in the soft shoulder, far up High Pass Rd. Thanks to their diligence, an elderly male was found down the hillside, disoriented and hypothermic.

The crew drove down the roadway until obtaining cell service, contacting 911 and providing a lead back to the subject and his car.

The male was transported non-em...ergency to the hospital for evaluation.

We are grateful for the care and concern of the passers-by who found him and activated the 911 system
