At 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2018, there was a fourth explosion in Austin. This explosion was not a package explosion but rather a trip wire type explosion that occurred in the Travis Country neighborhood of southwest Austin. The Sunset Valley Police Department requests that all residents remain vigilant and pay attention to any suspicious circumstances or items. Do not attempt to handle any backpacks, bags, packages or anything that looks out of the ordinary, instead call 9-1-1 immediately. The police department will respond and if necessary contact additional local or federal agencies that have mobile teams in place to handle these emergencies. In addition, the SVPD is directing more attention to directed neighborhood patrols during the early morning hours. A map of the current bomb/explosion locations is below.
