🚨ABR Newsflash-March 4, 2022-Rescued Bear #346 Arrives🐻
A short time ago, Curator Quanah returned from The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine with rescued Bear #346. Earlier today, citizens reported a mother bear killed by a car and brought the cub to the local police station. The police contacted TWRA immediately.
The bear is a male cub-of-the-year, about seven weeks old, and weighs 1.8 pounds ( 0.816 kg). He seems to be in good health, strong of voice a...nd sharp of claw! He’ll reside in The Cub Nursery where our curators will bottle-feed him every three hours, burp him, and encourage him to use the facilities.
There’s a chance this cub can be fostered to a mother bear in the wild. However, it’s a complicated procedure and we’ll let you know if we make the attempt. Regardless of how long he stays, he's one of ours. Please welcome, Peace Bear, so named because the world could sure use a little right now. 🐻☮️
