On 10/14/24, around 5:30 pm, the Arenac County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to 1200 block of Stover Road in Arenac Township. Dispatch had received a call from Jacob Fisher, 38 years old, who advised that he had shot his wife.
Deputies and Officers from Saginaw Chippewa Tribal PD arrived on scene and located Fisher in the driveway of his home. Fisher told Deputies that he had shot and killed his wife, Dainara Fisher. Jacob was taken into custody.
A Sherif...f Deputy and Tribal PD Officer located a deceased female with an apparent gunshot wound to the head in a trash container.
Deputies were able to locate the weapon used on scene, as well as located 5 minor children in the home. After removing the children from the home, the Sheriff's Office called in the Michigan State Police Crime Lab, and a detective from the State Police West Branch Post to conduct a thorough joint investigation. It remains under investigation at this time.
Fisher remains lodged at the Arenac County Jail on Homicide charges with no bond.
