This isn't the first time the right have attacked the Marxist tendency within the party!! during the anti-Corbyn purges of 2015/16 several members of Socialist Appeal found themselves auto-excluded!! At the time the party apparatchiks sited Chapter 2, clause I.4.B of the Labour Party rule book, which says:

"A member of the party who joins and / or supports a political organisation other than an official Labour group or other unit of the party, or supports any candidate who stands against an official Labour candidate, or publicly declares their intent to stand against a Labour candidate, shall automatically be ineligible to be or remain a party member, subject to the provisions of Chapter 6.I.2 below of the disciplinary rules."

but these ground are spurious as Socialist Appeal has always supported the Labour Party and its candidates. They are not a separate party, but a tendency within the Labour Party and the wider labour movement, organising socialist activists around Marxist ideas.

As with groups like Momentum, Socialist appeal activists are loyal Labour members, who have worked tirelessly to build the party in their local areas; and who have enthusiastically campaigned for Labour in every election.

The same cannot be said for other factions like 'Progress' and 'Labour first' within Labour’s so-called ‘broad church’.

These so called moderate factions have a long history of trying to crush people within the party ever since the party was formed!

Whether it was Marxists, Bevanites, Bennites, Corbynites or Trotskyites, it’s a tale as old as time. The Right of the party will try its best to purge any and all left wing factions within the party but it won’t change a damn thing. These so called 'moderates' are boxing at shadows trying to hold back the tide.

The right wingers' real enemy isn't the multiple different left wing factions over the years but the very idea of socialism. But these right winger cant beat that idea as they have no ideas of their own! As demonstrated by Tom Watson and co, who formed a parliamentary group of moderate labour MPs and spent a whole years trying to come up with new ideas and generated absolute zero policies.

Now is the time for the left to show its metal and stand with the Marxists!!! Everyone here at Bootle for socialism stands shoulder to shoulder with our comrades in Socialist Appeal. We sound the horn for other left wing organisations like Momentum and LLA to bring their banners in defence of Socialist Appeal the Marxist Voice for labour and the youth!!
