On Thursday May 19, 2022, at approximately 12:10 pm, the Cochise County Sheriff's Office was advised of a shooting in the 700 block of Lee Street in St. David.

The caller advised that a male subject had been shot and was in the yard of a residence with a male suspect reportedly still at the location as well. Sheriff's Deputies responded along with Benson Police Department and medical personnel and located the 45 year old male victim upon arrival. The suspect was no longer on scene.

The victim was airlifted to a Tucson hospital for treatment and it was determined that the suspect fled the area after stealing a 2020 grey in color four door Toyota Camry with Arizona license plates 2HA0CXA, which was last seen heading north on Highway 80 towards Benson.

An attempt to locate was issued for the stolen vehicle to all local law enforcement agencies with a notification that the suspect / driver should be considered armed and dangerous.

If you have information on the whereabouts of the vehicle we ask that you DO NOT attempt to approach the vehicle or anyone around it. Call 9-1-1 to notify of any information.

The investigation is being continued by the Cochise County Sheriff's Office and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
