A note from Joe McMahon regarding Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office operations during the COVID-19 coronavirus quarantine …
The COVID-19 coronavirus has presented a number of challenges to those of us who work in public safety as we seek to balance the public’s health and safety needs with the demands of our court system.
As your state’s attorney, my primary focus is on the safety of the public, justice and the well-being of my dedicated staff. I have been coordinating r...egularly with the county’s public safety leaders to devise and execute a plan that achieves all of these.
The chief judge has released a statement about how the county’s judicial system will operate at least until April 20. A copy of the general order is posted on our Facebook page.
Meantime, my office is committed to providing all necessary services to meet the public’s needs. In the interests of public health, we will have a reduced staff at our main office, and the branch courts in Aurora, Elgin and St. Charles will be closed. We ask for your patience and understanding as we all work together to get through this health crisis.
Thank you.
Joe McMahon
