A statement from our Executive Director, regarding Stephen Schwartz's boycott of North Carolina, as a result of HB2:

“As the Executive Director of NCTC, I am proud to represent a statewide theatre industry that regularly acts as a passionate advocacy machine. In the days since the passage of HB2, NCTC has been working with ARTS North Carolina to collect stories of how the new law (and the boycotting in response) affects the arts in regards to education, inclusion, and economi...c development. We are leading the efforts to communicate this information to our elected officials. Though I have not spoken with Mr. Schwartz, I have been in contact with artists and producers from across the country who are asking how they can most effectively play a part in lifting up the NC theatre community so that we may continue to produce work that will open hearts and change minds.
