Mayor Luke Bronin writes in today's Hartford Courant in support of raising wages for nursing home caregivers:

"Giving Careene, Howard and their colleagues a modest raise will make a difference for thousands of families across our state. We hear a lot about people looking to leave Connecticut. These employees are not leaving. They are living in our communities. They are mothers, fathers, grandparents supporting loved ones and contributing to our cities and towns. And you don’t… have to be an economist to know that a modest increase in income for lower-paid employees is likely to be spent on goods and services locally, supporting our local economy."
