The National Network to End Domestic Violence

This morning, NNEDV was proud to stand on the steps of the Supreme Court as #JohnsonVGrantsPass oral arguments began. As Dr. Wendy B. Mahoney, our Interim President & CEO, told the crowd assembled at the #HousingNotHandcuffs rally:

"Housing is safety for domestic and sexual violence survivors. [...] Yet, housing is one of most out-of-reach resources for survivors. Many survivors are forced to flee their homes to escape dangerous and life-threatening violence. Lack of safe, af...fordable housing options leave many survivors without a choice but to survive outside. [...] We call on policymakers to invest in affordable housing and survivor-specific housing programs. These urgent policy solutions are well within our grasp. We need to shift from arresting, fining, and ticketing to policies that help end abuse and homelessness."
