On 01/06/17 the Polk County Sheriff's Office took a report of a cow trapped in a pond just outside of Monmouth. Upon arrival the deputy discovered the cow had gone out onto the frozen pond, had fallen and couldn't get up.

With the assistance of an officer with the Monmouth Police Department the owner was found. With some quality lasso roping the owner was able to pull the cow off the ice.

After a couple minutes the cow was able to gain it's footing and walk under its own po...wer to the barn.
