Initial assessment of Save the Children Philippines teams and coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office show that houses have been severely damaged, electrical posts have fallen resulting to the disruption of communication lines, and the lack of potable water.
“First time ko po ma-experience yung gani...tong bagyo. Nalulungkot po ako kasi yung mga paninda ng pamilya namin ay naanod lahat,” shared 11-year-old Fire John who had to go through the flood to try and rescue materials from their shop in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
