SSAC was pleased to have a vendor and Karanveer Singh Pannu, author and speaker of the book 'Bullying of #Sikh American Children: Through the Eyes of a Sikh American High School Student' Not only is he an AMAZING young man who opened up many eyes at our conference, he continues to try to get others who do not understand the hurt that bullying causes to change their preconceived notions about appearances. Pannu introduces the Sikh faith and discusses the significance of the turban and the history of Sikhs in the United States. Many of the attendees SROs and School Administrators wore a turban which better illustrated just how many others treat someone different simply by appearance.
