Tonight we are saddened and enraged.
We have learned from our sibling office, the Philadelphia Office of LGBT Affairs that Dominique "Rem'mie" Fells was found murdered.
"“We are reminded with this, and countless other painful losses—especially within our transgender communities—that there is much left to do until we achieve full equality, respect, and support for us all. The murder of transgender people—especially those of color—is truly an epidemic, and a crisis that we cann...ot afford to allow to persist any further."
This is just two hours after news from TransOhio that Riah Milton was murdered in Cincinnati.
This is heartbreaking, this is enraging, this is devastating, this is an epidemic. We have to continue to take action until all #BlackTransWomen are safe.
Our hearts are with the friends, families, and communities or Dominique Rem'mie Fells and Riah Milton.
