DPS Seizes Illegal Drugs in Hidalgo County
WESLACO, TEXAS – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Special Agents arrested two suspects on Tuesday for possession of cocaine in Hidalgo County.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., DPS Special Agents observed several indicators of criminal activity at a warehouse located at the 100 block International in Palmview. After searching the building, Agents discovered boxes containing 133 packages of cocaine, weighing 323 pounds, worth an... estimated $19 million.
DPS arrested Jesus Salvador Gonzalez-Mendoza (25), Hernan Halil Mena-Real, 26, both of Jalisco, Mexico, on federal drug charges. Both suspects were transported and booked into the San Juan Police Department jail.
