COW OVER CLIFF UPDATE: Yesterday we responded to reports of a pregnant cow that had fallen over the edge of a cliff at The Rumps. She was a rare breed White Park cow who became stuck 60ft down on the rocks.

A specialist line rescue appliance from Bodmin Community Fire Station was also mobilised to this incident.

The incident was made extremely difficult as the cow swam to an isolated island where she was out of reach of the emergency services.

Due to the rising tide and fading light, rescue attempts were hampered and were resumed this morning.

9 hours into this challenging incident, the cow was successfully rescued to dry land where she was left in the safe hands of the vet and farmer.

Many thanks to Padstow Lifeboat and Polzeath Coastguard for your assistance.
