The movie Show Dogs will no longer be playing at Water Gardens...again. Following the studio's editing to appease customer complaints, the movie was rereleased on Friday, May 25th. Water Gardens applauds OPRD for responding swiftly to the consumer feedback by getting an edited version redistributed to all theaters in North America within five days.
Unfortunately, the edits were insufficient to qwell complaints and the message boards lit up again. This kept audiences away from... the film on one of the busiest holiday weekends of the year. Our theater had only 91 people attend for a total of $420, which is right inline with the national average.
We invited three mothers of preteen children to a private screening of the edited version and to give us their honest opinions. All three thought they were watching the uncut version with the same scenes which are inappropriate for the young PG audience the film was marketed to. All three were disappointed as they really wanted to purchase tickets to support the film maker for responding to what consumers think.
