8/30 10:57am UPDATE: while no arrests have been made at this time, detectives are continuing to investigate whether there is a relationship between the suspects and the victim. We do not believe members of the public are being randomly targeted inside their homes.

WRPD Officers Responding to Shooting:
Officers are currently on the scene of a shooting in the 4600 block of Otis. The victim— a 43-year-old man— is fortunately expected to survive his injuries.
He told officers two men burst into his home and fired one shot, striking him in the leg. They then quickly fled the area.
The victim was immediately transported to the hospital. Our investigators are working to determine whether any previous relationship between the suspects and the victim exist.
Please understand this is still a very dynamic scene. We will release more information (in updates at the top of this post)— including any suspect descriptions— as soon as we are able and provided it doesn’t compromise the investigation.
