Police Arrest Male for Making Threats at Courthouse

Worcester, MA (January 29, 2017) - On Friday, January 27, 2017 at approximately 11:30 AM, Worcester Police responded to Worcester District Court for a report of threats that had just occurred inside one of the courtrooms. Upon arrival, police met with several witnesses to the incident. Police were informed that a trial had just concluded in Worcester District Court and the Defendant was found not guilty.

Witnesses reported ...that there was a small disturbance inside the courtroom after the verdict was read. Witnesses then observed a male identified as 21 year old Kane Notice of Worcester make threatening gesturers and statements towards the acquitted defendant and the defendant’s attorney. Specifically, Notice was observed pointing his hand as if it was a gun and gesturing in a shooting motion toward both the defendant and the attorney.

Police were aware that Notice is a relative of the victim in the case that had just concluded and was displeased with the not guilty verdict. Notice left the courthouse prior to the arrival of responding officers. As a result of the incident, a warrant was issued for Mr. Notice on the charge of Intimidation of a Witness.

Later on that night at approximately 7:00 PM, members of the Worcester Police Gang Unit were on patrol in the area of Shepard Street and observed a vehicle parked on the side of the road occupied by 4 individuals. Gang officers were aware that this vehicle is associated with Mr. Notice. They approached the vehicle and observed Notice in the front passenger seat. Officers placed Notice under arrest for the warrant without incident.

He will be arraigned on Monday in Worcester District Court.
