I have been with this gang of loonies for 4 years and a month. Haltingly in the beginning, and then assuming a role of one of the editors of InformNapalm English. I translated and edited, made glossaries and style guides, introduced professional tools and processes in our translation team. Even wrote some features on the topics that hooked me. In short, applied all my professional skills to a good cause. And I feel tha...t this the way to go for an active citizen.
We are a bunch of volunteers scattered around the world doing important stuff with next no funding, on pure enthusiasm. We exposed Russian military crimes in Ukraine, Georgia and Syria, as well as Russia's attempts at soft power in the EU. Our material has been used by official Ukrainian delegations at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and PACE, we contributed evidence to international courts, we co-produced a comprehensive guide to the war zone of Donbas. We lined up a comprehensive evidence-backed database of the Russian presence in Crimea and Donbas.
