***UPDATE****

The Aurora Police Department Has made a couple of statements . They are looking into the matter as we speak. Let's hope for a positive resolution. No need to make anymore posts to their wall at the moment .. Let's give them a chance to make this right! Thanks everyone!! ~Kristy

Tiara Wilson, went to Ihop with her friends and when they began breastfeeding the people sitting near them started taking pictures of them and harassing them about it. The Ihop manager ...sided with the breastfeeding moms and ended up phoning the police to get those people to stop taking pictures . He didn't give them their check and when they tried to dart out, he didn't let them leave until the police arrived. Unfortunately the police made it worse.... This is not okay. The law states that a mother may breastfeed her child wherever she is otherwise authorized to be.
"Myself and a few of my mama friends decided to go out to eat at IHOP today for International pancake day. We were enjoying ourselves, not bothering anyone. We ate our food, laughed, talked, etc.
BUT.. a family walked in and sat down next to us. No big deal right? Wrong. About 3 of the 7 of us started to feed our babies because we didn't think much of it. While breastfeeding, that same family of 3 that was sitting next to us, decided to snap a picture of us feeding our babies. He decided to make disgusting faces and snarky little remarks to his family. Then his family decided to take photos and decided that they would sit there the whole time and mean mug and again make nasty faces as everyone FED their babies.
A mom friend that was with us, decided to get the manager because this family was truly just so disgusted by us feeding our littles so much that it was obviously picture worthy. 🙄🙄🙄.
Well, the manager decided to call the police because he said it's illegal for this family to sit there and take pictures.... The police came and this part is what TRULY disgusted me.
The Aurora Police Department COPD said: "GO TO THE BATHROOM or USE A COVER , if you don't want to be bothered or have pictures snapped while feeding." This caused one of my mama friends to break down in tears because this horrible family is snapping pictures of her breastfeeding and that was their response. 😐
How is this okay? Why is it that we are still shaming mothers for feeding openly? Why do we have to go to the bathroom to feed our littles? Do you eat your food in the bathroom? No. Are you eating under a blanket? No. DO NOT TELL A MOTHER, that she needs to go to the bathroom during an outing with friends to feed her little one. I am just in true disbelief that people still think it's okay to have a mother feeding in a place where we use the bathroom. How is that even sanitary?"
