Dear Friends and Family,
We had a very sad but special reason to give thanks on this years Thanksgiving Eve. Our sweet and precious kitty cat Spooky took a turn for the worse and we had to say our final goodbye. She was doing really good for such an old girl—21 years old — but the physical problems just became too much for her and we did not want her to suffer any longer. She lost her ability to stand and walk, losing her balance. She had kidney problems, and we believe the...y were almost completely failed. Her thyroid had given up, and her bones were weak and deteriorating—especially her spine. But she would do everything in her power to get on our laps, cuddle next to us, and be near her humans. Every single morning that I was home, she would wake us up ( sometimes starting her ritual at 3:30AM!)
and our day would start together. She always made us laugh with her shenanigans and always warmed our hearts with her unceasing love and affection. She was a ball of love. We referred to sometimes as “proof of God”— such a sweet perfect little creature, who’s greatest joy was being next to you, on you, or in between us.
I found Spooky in a shelter around 18 years ago, and she was estimated to be about 3 years old. She spent the rest of her life bringing us the greatest joy imaginable. We are devastated, and miss her so much it physically hurts.
So thank you, little black kitty cat, for the best times together, all the laughs, all that purring, and the comfort and love we gave each other. You gave us so much without even realizing it. You will be in our hearts forever, and on our minds every single day.
Eternal Love and Affection,
Spooky’s Mom & Dad

PS—we’ve all gone through things like this. And we all will again. Cherish the loved ones around you, human and otherwise. Wishing everyone peace, joy, love, and happiness during the holiday season, and all of the year.
