BAMFIELD RD. The “Bamfield Road” is on everyone’s mind these days following that terrible bus accident a week ago today, and as I reported in the media, I would hope that these young lives lost would not be in vain when it comes to the Province committing to upgrading the road and making it safer for everyone who travels it, including the many students who come to study at BMSC. Early today Premier John Horgan called me to discuss the situation and assure me that he and MOTI... officials were committed to taking appropriate action regarding the condition of the Bamfield Rd. His office has arranged for Huu-ay-aht First Nations Chief Dennis, City of Pt. Alberni Mayor Minions, and myself to meet with him and senior staff on Tuesday of next week in Vancouver to further discuss and outline a course of action. In addition to hearing from the Premier, MLA Minister Fraser also spoke with me today and assured me that we would meet next week during UBCM to determine how he and his office could best assist our three communities regarding road improvemnets.
