Armando Uribe est décédé le 22 janvier 2020. Dans les années 1970 et 1980, il avait été professeur associé au département de science politique de la Sorbonne.

Avocat, diplomate et enseignant, Armando Uribe était également un écrivain et un poète reconnu. En 2004, il avait obtenu le prix national de littérature, récompense très importante pour le Chili.

Né en 1933, et devenu diplomate en 1967, il avait été nommé ambassadeur du Chili en Chine par le gouvernement d'unité populai...re. Il dénoncera le coup d'Etat militaire et sera déchu de sa nationalité par la junte au pouvoir en 1974.

Exilé en France avec sa famille, il est nommé professeur associé au département de science politique où il assure des enseignements de politique comparée. Il fera partie de l'équipe de recherche constituée autour de Maurice Duverger et du Centre d'Analyse Comparative des Systèmes Politiques créé en 1974.

Il retournera au Chili lors de la phase de transition ouverte après le référendum constitutionnel et l'élection présidentielle de 1989.

Ses collègues et des étudiants garderont le souvenir de ses analyses pénétrantes, d'un homme de grande culture, d'un témoin à la sensibilité exacerbée, et d'un homme attachant par sa modestie, son extrême courtoisie, son élégance d'esprit et de comportement et sa disponibilité.

Armando Uribe passed away on January 22, 2020. In the 1970 s and 1980 s, he had been an associate professor in the Department of Political Science of the Sorbonne.
