Thank you for your friendship and support over these past years. Ed and I could not have made it this far without your notes, hugs, and prayers. Please keep it up! We maintain innocence and will fight this battle to the end. Many of you have asked how you could be of help. We have finally organized our needs, and the way you could help.
Since Ed has lost his job we have been struggling to ‘make ends meet’. Lisa has been doing contract work, as well as looking for full ...time work. Contract work isn’t always dependable, so we are doing everything possible to reduce our monthly expenses in order to fit our drastically decreased income.
It was our responsibility to pay the hotel for the lawyers who stayed in Allentown during the 6-week trial so that they could work on the case at night. We still have an approximately $8,000 credit card bill on which we charged the hotel. We need to pay off that debt and don’t have the means to do this ourselves. Would you be able to help us with that?
If we raise more than that bill, we would be able to start paying more than the small amounts we currently pay on our 2nd lawyer’s debt of $43,000.
We will also have need for a lawyer for the FEC complications. We might have need for additional legal help for the appeal that is most definitely in our future, as well as a lawsuit against us.
It would be considered a gift to us for our legal expenses. (FYI, IRS law says people can give a gift of $13,999 per person each year without that being counted as taxable income for them.) It would NOT be a campaign donation, so would not be recorded on a campaign finance report. It would not be tax deductible to you. It would just be a gift.
