Edgewood Police Department and surrounding agencies are aware of large packs of all-terrain vehicles (ATV) and motorcycles (including dirt bikes) that have been known to swarm local areas. The Edgewood Police Department is working with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Orlando Police Department and other agencies throughout the region to combat these issues. We at the Edgewood Police Department want to assure you that we are being proactive in our approach to this issue.
T...he Edgewood Police Department is asking the public NOT TO TAKE MATTERS INTO THEIR OWN HANDS, please call 911 and let local law enforcement handle it. Below is a list of other things you can do.
• Let them pass you, then call 911
• If you are unable to get out of their way, try to slow down. They’ll eventually go around you.
• Be a good witness. Take notes where you are located, the color and markings on the motorcycle or ATV and their direction of travel.
• Take notes of the rider such as, clothing, helmet, facemask, etc.
• If you or a passenger tries to record the bikers, be discrete to avoid provoking confrontation.
• Stay in your vehicle.
Please note that we have many tools at our disposal and are using all of them to keep our community safe. If you witness a reckless or dangerous behavior of any kind, please call 911. We are working with the community to stop this reckless behavior.
