GLOBAL CYCLING NETWORK ANNOUNCES FORMER ROAD RACER BERNIE EISEL AS NEW PRESENTER

Following an illustrious career on the WorldTour stage – Austrian rider Bernie Eisel joins the GCN team

2 March – Bath, UK: The Play Sports Network (PSN) is excited to announce the appointment of Bernie Eisel as the newest presenter of its acclaimed road cycling channel, Global Cycling Network (GCN). Founded in 2013, GCN is home to the world’s largest and fastest-growing road cycling community, currently attracting over 50 million video content views per month.

Following his recent retirement from UCI WorldTeam Team Dimension Data, Bernie brings an unrivalled amount of experience from racing at the highest level over nearly two decades. He will be working alongside co-presenters including Simon Richardson, Dan Lloyd, James Lowsley-Williams and Manon Lloyd.

Bernie signed his first professional contract with Mapei in 2001 then went on to compete more than 1300 races in 19 years. He rode the Tour de France an incredible 12 times, including 2012 where he helped Bradley Wiggins storm to victory with Team Sky. He is also extremely proud of riding the iconic Paris-Roubaix 16 times!

As GCN is a must have in cycling race coverage and the driving force behind the Eurosport cycling broadcasts and content, Bernie’s role will be one of ‘Man on the Ground’ for the major cycling races throughout the year. The cycling community will be able to benefit from Bernie’s inside knowledge of the peloton and his closeness to the riders, old friends and ex-teammates. Along with this unique perspective, Bernie will contribute to the extensive GCN catalogue of cycling lifestyle pieces. Sharing his love of bikes, riding and racing.
