Alas, the failing corporate media has finally turned its collective attention to my reports.
If only I had their attention when I was covering a nationwide scandal involving Syrian migrants physically and sexually assaulting Canadian children on our publicly funded school grounds.
If only I had their attention when I was documenting the mass flow of illegal migrants through our southern border months ago, before it crescendoed into the crisis our country faces today.
...If only I had their attention whilst calling for the prioritization of Christian refugees who face genocide in the Middle East, as opposed to those the United Nations sends us.
If only...
But, now that I have your attention, allow me to set the record straight:
I attended this weekend's events in Charlottesville on my own accord as a reporter and commentator, not as a supporter. At no point did I represent Rebel Media while on the ground: Ezra Levant explicitly discouraged me from attending the rally in any capacity.
The stale media sources now running a campaign to discredit me (and my freedom-fighting, alligator-hided former boss) are the same cabal who labeled me a neo-Nazi and white supremacist at several other junctures of my career. This is nothing new. It is only because scenes from this particular event were so reprehensible and, indeed, deadly that their bleats seem more deafening now.
I stand by the observations I made; however, I understand some were in serious need of clarification. My follow-up video, posted on Rebel Media’s YouTube page, provides this clarification (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8WPz2u1ipA&t=200s).
Since that video, it has come to the public’s attention that I appeared on a podcast affiliated with the Daily Stormer while in Virginia. I made a poor decision that has had unintended negative personal and professional consequences on those I care about most.
I cannot ask my friends and colleagues to provide cover fire in a battle I walked towards — of my own volition, in spite of their warnings. For that reason I am relieved Ezra made the difficult decision for me by terminating my contract with The Rebel.
Thank you to Ezra and the Rebel team — each and every one of you — for an enriching and inimitable professional experience. Together, we investigated stories the mainstream media ignored and delivered crucial commentary, acting as a voice for the voiceless in this culture war.
I pray God guides me in the lessons He wants me to learn in this, confident that I will emerge more spirited than ever.
