Rio Municipality today inaugurated a mural to commemorate the first-ever refugee team to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games. It will live on long after the athletes and the media have gone, as will the memory of this small group of 10 very dedicated youngsters given a shot at the big time despite life having dealt them some pretty bad cards so far along the way.
Local street artists did the mural which is in the run down old port area, where the city is hoping the real legacy of the Rio games will live on... Museums, an aquarium and sport facilities have all taken shape in abandoned warehouses and buildings...
