Just posting this as a warning to anyone that has bought strawberries (Berry Obsessions) from Woolworths recently. Driving up to the coast when Hoani van Dorp bites through a strawberry and swallows half a sewing needle. We then checked the other strawberries and found another sewing needle lodged inside one of them. We are now at the ER because he subsequently started experiencing severe abdominal pain. Just being a helpful member of the community and making sure your childr...en don’t have to endure what we have had to experience today. Please make your family and friends aware.
Update: Hoani van Dorp just received a call from the store manager. They have issued a total recall on all of the punnets. They are also contacting the supplier, the police and health and safety. They suspect it is foul play, but unsure whether it was via the supplier, Woolworths or a customer. We will post further updates to keep the community informed.
Response to frequently asked questions: The brand is 'Berry Obsession' and then were purchased from the Woolworths in Strathpine Centre. The recall is only at that store. The manager informed us they had removed all the strawberries, but we have not returned to see whether this is true.
