Let’s export Apple Daily.
...The best that the UK could do is to walk-the-walk and publish an English version of an Apple Daily in the UK that is anti-British. For good measure, it would also hire dozens of paparazzi reporters, have 3 full pages of sleazy photographs and be at the receiving end of dozens of libel lawsuits every year (plaintiffs not political figures).
After all, Jimmy Lai is British (full British nationality, not the BNO type) although he has never lived in the UK.
Perhaps a Chinese investor in the UK would like to reciprocate and diversify into the media business? Or we could do it from Hong Kong, offering handsome cash rewards for details of the private lives( such as copies of children’s birth certificates) of public figures in the UK?
Thinking about it, since in 2018 I paid $500 for some shares in Next Digital, perhaps I should now chip in $500 again to found and publish an English Apple Daily to enjoy the freedom of the press in the UK.
Then we know how tolerant are the British.
