Fightback activists enter the Consulate Of Pakistan In Toronto demanding the Release of Amar Fayaz. Amar, a member of the Progressive Youth Alliance (sister group of Fightback) was abducted by Pakistani security forces 25 days ago in Jamshoro, Pakistan and his whereabouts are still unknown. When we spoke to the deputy consul general, he had no updates for us. In fact, when we turned the camera off, he immediately demanded we leave and we found out his secretary had called the... police. In addition to the police, an RCMP liaison to the consulate had also been called over warning us to stay off of private property.

But our dozen activists refused to be intimidated. We continued to protest outside of the consulate for the full hour of our stay as is our legal right and then we proceeded to leave peacefully making it clear that we would return if they continued to ignore us.

With no answer for 25 days and no answer for us today, this is an alarming indication that the Pakistani officials in Canada do not take the life and wellbeing of Amar seriously and we ask all of our supporters to help us to escalate the pressure on the Pakistan embassy/consulates in Canada and internationally so they do take it seriously.

Each week that our comrade remains in illegal confinement, our international campaign grows larger and stronger.
