Rest in peace Dr Yusuf Kodwavwala Dawood. A Rotarian and Past District Governor, a surgeon and author.

Yusuf Dawood wrote "The Surgeon's Diary" for over three decades. Twice a month, and at a time when most of us read newspapers like a ritual, this man brought a smile to many a face with his column in the Sunday Nation. Stories of often grave situations, told with remarkable humour.

Dr Dawood leaves the world better than it was when he checked in in 1928. Though I met Daktari many times while he was still here in Kenya (mostly at Rotary events) these are the only photos I took with him.
