We have received notice that MLA Stephanie McLean has resigned from her position as an elected member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.

Prior to serving as a Member of the Legislative Assembly, Stephanie had started a small business, practicing law and later partnered to create GTM LLP where she practiced in Family and Criminal litigation.

Stephanie is the first Alberta MLA to give birth while in office. She was also a member of Cabinet and served as Minister of Service Alberta and Status of Women from February 2, 2016 to June 17, 2018.

As Minister of Service Alberta, Stephanie protected Albertans by strengthening rules around payday lending and overhauling the province’s consumer protection legislation.

As the Minister of Status of Women, she led work on our government’s commitment to end sexual violence and organized a campaign to encourage women to run for municipal office.
