Polish zoologists tracking a stork's migration from Africa with a GSM transmitter wondered why it got stuck in Sudan. Then they received a €2,300 phone bill. Someone had apparently taken the SIM card out of the transmitter and put it into his mobile phone.

The fate of the stork, called Kajtek, is unknown, but his prospects aren't good.
