'THE SAD END OF HISTORIC QUIRINO BRIDGE' 😢💔
LOOK: The famous Quirino Bridge of Banaoang, which connects the towns of Santa and Bantay in Ilocos Sur, suffered devastating aftermath from Super Typhoon Egay, as shown in these aerial photos taken on Thursday, July 27.
Known for its scenic view, the 456-meter steel arch bridge that once attracted many tourists to the province has become a memory, as the Abra River's raging waters destroyed a portion of the structure following the ...heavy rains.
In addition to the bridge and its iconic "One Ilocos Sur" signage, the super typhoon also damaged roads, making them impassable to motorists until further notice.
