Following an invitation from the authorities of Romania, ODIHR deployed a Special Election Assessment Mission (SEAM) to the 6 December 2020 parliamentary elections. This is in accordance with ODIHR's mandate.

The ODIHR SEAM assessed the elections for their compliance with OSCE commitments and other international obligations and standards, as well as with national legislation.

ODIHR had previously observed nine elections in the country, most recently the 2019 presidential elec...tion.
