Water Protectors;
As many of you have heard, today the Army Corp of Engineers has issued a statement denying DAPL from receiving an easement to drill underneath the Missouri river. Today has been a day of celebration here at Oceti Sakowin Camp, but our work is far from over.
LET ME MAKE THIS VERY CLEAR: DAPL IS MOST LIKELY STILL DRILLING, THEY ARE STILL FLYING LOW FLYING AIRCRAFT OVER CAMPS, AND THEY ARE STILL SHINING FLOOD LIGHTS ON OCETI SAKOWIN. DAPL IS NOT STOPPING AT THE... MOMENT BECAUSE OF WHAT HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED TODAY. THEY HAVE PROVEN THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE LAW, OR WHAT & WHO THEY HARM TO GET THIS OIL FLOWING. DO NOT TRUST MAINSTREAM MEDIAS HALF TRUTH ARTICLES. THIS IS NOT OVER.
As many of you are aware, people from all around the world have gathered to stand in solidarity with over 300 indigenous tribes to both protect the water of 18 million people, and the rights of Native Americans. Even if the easement denial is true, our work is only half way done.
For over 500 years, Turtle Islands natives have been oppressed by foreign invaders. The US government has never upheld a single treaty, or stood on the side of Native Americans. Obviously today's turn of events, at least in my opinion, is highly suspect. Although we hope todays news remains true, there are doubts and suspicions.
Our team of about 15 (myself along with the Oceti Sakowin Camp media team) will be working all through the night preparing for official statements from the camp tomorrow. We will preparing press releases, and fact checking left and right as much as possible. We need your help.
Please comment below with any and all information you have connected to todays announcements. News articles, statements, press releases, news reports, etc. Post them all below. We need any and all information you can provide us. Help us push the best message possible. The message of Oceti Sakowin.
I hope todays message stands true, and the US government upholds todays news. Help us make sure that is possible.
All of us at Standing Rock cannot thank you all for your un-wavering support, and worldwide solidarity.
Lets kill this Black Snake once and for all.
